Novotel Panwa Beach, Phuket

The Novotel on Panwa Beach is located in the Southern part of Phuket along Cape Panwa.

It’s about an 1-hour trip from the Airport and about 35 minutes from the nightlife, bars and restaurants of Patong. Panwa is isolated from most areas of Phuket, which means that taxi fares from the Hotel can go from between 600-1200 Baht, so if you are looking for a private getaway, this would be the only reason to stay here.

The best part of the hotel is the beautiful heated pool which looks out onto the beach with views of the shores of Chalong Bay – ideal for a private night time dip.

I stayed in Room 207, a beach view room with a small balcony that overlooks the beachfront. Rooms are well sized, but the house keeping is slower than most hotels with rooms being made up in the late afternoon. Internet costs 200 Baht for 1-hour.

You can give the buffet breakfast a skip – in fact use the 350 Baht to take a trip into Phuket Town and grab a bite to eat there from a variety of different food vendors around the area.

TIP: Cocktails at the Novotel cost about 180 Baht, and 120 Baht for a stubby of Tiger Beer. If you’re looking for a cheaper drink close by, take a walk up the road to the small hut located at the top of the hill – about a 7 minute walk from the Novotel. A long neck there cost 100 Baht only, and the nice Malaysian man who owns the place lets you buy a few for storage in the hotel mini bar! And there’s an amazing view of sunset from here too!

Phuket is one of the worlds popular beach resorts. Many beach goers choose this wonderful city for their vacation. There are tons of great Phuket rooms to choose from with something for every person.

Have just turned back from a fantastic vacation to Phuket, stayed at West of Eden in the northeast part which is less hetic than southwest areas, great resort and awesome bays. We hired a jeep for only 300 baht per day and would drive around the whole region. So many marvelous places to dine, our beloved spot was Sweet n Spicy which had the most wonderful view over the beach, the staff was rather friendly and the food so yummy, we went for sunrise drinks. My wife and I had a brilliant time in Phuket Island and will be back for Songkran.

Sawadee Kha! I’m about to go to Thailand and I’m very excited about my holiday. Already booked my flight to Suvamabhumi Airport and from there we’ll go travel around Koh Chang, I saw your great blog on Bing and it seems that you know a lot about Siam. Would you kindly give me some advice where to stay in Silom? I’ve read there are some good hotels near Phuttamonthon and Siam Center… Thank you in advance!

Been to Koh Samui twice now, first time was in January 2004, then back at Songkran 2009. What a phenomenal holiday place! It caters for everybody: if your looking for cordial locals there is plenty of them,if you want better off thai food there is a good deal and nightlife is amazing. If you want a low-budget vacation, you can have it – if you need an pricy holiday, you can have it as well. My wife is really in love with the place and has just bought into a massage shop over there. My children love it as well. What a great place to celebrate Songkran!
